Mani Rimdu Festival in Tangboche Monastery

Mani Rimdu Festival - The biggest Buddhist Fest and Mask dance Ceremony on the lap of Mt. Everest Base Camp Trekking Route in 3800m. Tangboche Monastery build and founded by Lama Gellu in 1981 AD.  and this monastery has strong ties with Rongbuk Monastery in Tibet just front of North side Everest Base Camp. Early years this monastery was damaged by earthquake and burned on 1989 AD. But, now it has rebuild with new designed and decorated by clean and fine Buddhist thank paint  art insight the monastery by the  Monks and Tibetans together.  The festival celebrating  October/November full moon day every year.

Mani Rimdu festival is a annual biggest full moon festival in the shadow of Mt. Everest and Mt. Amadablam  at 3800m. insight the Biggest Buddhist Temple of Everest Base Camp Trekking trail and whole Mt. Everest Region.  The Buddhist monks exhibits the colorful mask dances that depict the victory of Buddhism over the earlier Bon region. Before the Mask dance preformed by monk they go though the preparation of festival like the Sand Mandala, the Empowerment, the spiritual fire puja in the angel of Monastery. The most important and religious festival in Largest monastery of Khumbu region in Tangboche Monastery, it consists of nine days ceremonies and meditation. The special blessing ceremony given by Tengboche Rinpoche to the public of Mt. Everest Region and the world renowned Mask Dances performed by the local monks at Monastery.

Most of local villages Sherpa communities and Buddhist followers attend the special performance with due respect. The dance depict conquering and converting demons by Guru Rimpoche and the introduction of Buddhism into Tibet.
