Fact 1: Island peak is a trek trip or climbing trip ?
Island peak is 6189m climbing peak on the south west slope of Mt. Lhotse and above the Chukung village in Khumbu region insight the Sagarmatha National Park in Nepal. Second way is fly to Lukla or Phaplu than continue trek Amphu Lapcha pass via Mera La and Mera Peak than climb Island Peak. Route two is more harder and rear trek route for you. However trekking route to Everest Base Camp  via Namche Bazaar is one of most busy and famous hiking route through rhododendron and pine forest up to grassy moorland on behind of yaks caravan.

Island peak title name is Imja Tse in local Sherpa Language. The snowy peak was named by Eric Shiptons  as Island Peak in 1951 AD since it appears as an island in a sea of ice when viewed from Dingboche village. Island peak first attempt was 1956 AD. by Swiss climbing team as a training to Mount Everest and Mt. Lhotse Expedition.
